There was a time that I was completely intimidated by the idea of making ribs. I have eaten my fair share of overcooked ribs masked with too much sauce and did not want my initial attempts to yield those undesirable results. Ribs are a pretty personal food, especially for those that pride themselves on their grilling technique or secret sauce (this would not be me!). My goal was to have a relatively easy process that was not too time consuming. In my quest to create my favorite ribs, I decided to consult with the two people that had served me the best ribs that I had eaten; my brother-in-law and my uncle. After speaking with them both, I was surprised that they not only used the same cooking method, but similar ingredients as well. My solution was to combine both recipes and make one of my own. These ribs are not intended to be saucy and I promise that you will not miss the sauce! They are absolutely fall off the bone delicious! Not to mention...EASY!
BBQ Ribs
Serves 4-6
3 lbs baby back ribs
¼ cup chopped fresh rosemary
Garlic powder
Salt
Pepper
Sauce
1 jar of Bone Sucking Sauce
¼ cup honey
½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Directions
Rub the ribs with rosemary and generous amounts of garlic powder, salt and pepper. Place in a preheated 250 degree oven covered tightly with foil. Cook at 250 for 3 hours. Test with a fork to make sure that the meat easily pulls from the bone, if so they are done.
Remove from oven. Preheat the grill to med-high heat.
Combine the Bone Sucking Sauce, honey, and red pepper flakes and generously brush the ribs with the sauce.
Grill them over high heat for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce begins to caramelize and create crispy crust.
Remove from the grill, brush with more sauce and serve.
